Since our inception in 2011, Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership has stressed the vital importance of both Heathrow and Gatwicks long-term expansion plans to the local economy of our area. This report clearly shows that Heathrow has listened to business and taken their needs and priorities into consideration in its revised plans. Business leaders have repeatedly told us about the importance of Heathrow to their businesses. Many big businesses locate within the Enterprise M3 area because of its proximity to the airport. We therefore believe that it is vitally important that Heathrows status as a hub airport is safeguarded. Enterprise M3 also welcomes the importance that the report has placed on improving the surface transport links to Heathrow. This kind of expansion plan will only work if both road and rail access to and around the airport is improved. We have a world-class economy in the Enterprise M3 area and we believe that the expansion plans that Heathrow have published today, along with their supporting surface access improvements, will go a long way to ensuring that we maintain and improve our position in the global economy. http://www.enterprisem3.org.uk/news/enterprise-m3-response-to-heathrow-expansion-plans/ Tue, 13 May 2014 13:20:24 +0000 Enterprise M3 publishes its Local Growth Deal and Strategic Economic Plan Investing in the Enterprise M3 area will not only improve the economy for local people, businesses and enterprises but also the national economy as a whole. http://www.enterprisem3.org.uk/news/enterprise-m3-publishes-its-local-growth-deal-and-strategic-economic-plan/ Thu, 03 Apr 2014 15:36:28 +0000 Businesses hear about Enterprise M3’s £1.4bn investment plan to boost the local economy Government need to invest in success - this was the key message from Geoff French, chair of Enterprise M3, at the LEPs fourth annual conference on 27 February at FIVE in Farnborough.
