Enterprise M3 Strategic Economic Plan - Consultation 2017

The Enterprise M3 economic area is a national economic asset and a leading contributor to the UK’s economic growth. Our role is to provide economic leadership for our area with business, local authorities, universities, colleges, business membership organisations, and not-for-profit partners.  We help create and maintain an industrial environment in which our businesses can thrive and have a voice in decision-making, and to deliver investment where it will support growth.

As we prepare for Brexit and a new set of trading opportunities and challenges, our twin priorities are to foster resilience in the face of economic uncertainty, and to strengthen our region’s competitive advantages.

The priorities on which we are now consulting have been through several stages of development over the past few months.

Through this process we have identified five priorities for an Enterprise M3 industrial strategy, for detailed conversation about what the LEP and partners need to do to continue our successful support for economic growth and business:

In the wider consultation with business and our other partners we want to ask three categories of question:

  1. How should we tailor these proposals to best support businesses?
  2. What are the specific outcomes we should be aiming for in each of these priority areas?
  3. What should be the respective roles of Enterprise M3 LEP, local authorities, businesses and education providers in achieving these?

We are proposing a series of consultation events. Details of the events will be published on our website in the coming weeks and details will be found here. These events are open for any business or organisation in the LEP area.

This consultation will inform the writing of our Industrial Strategy which we intend to publish in early 2018.

We are proud to be bold and we have our sights set on even greater success – so join in the dialogue with us and have your say.
